Thousands of small shops are unaware that they are entitled to Small Business Rate Relief.
To qualify for this, a business needs to operate from one business property and have a rateable value of less than £10,000.
The Federation of Small Businesses has revealed that over half of all small firms are unaware that they could claim up to £1,200 each in refunds.
Business Rates are often the third largest costs for small businesses, after salaries and rent.
