Tobacco will no longer be displayed in shops as a result of the implementation of new legislation introduced under the previous Labour government.
The ban will come into force on large retailers on April 6, 2012 and for all shops on April 6, 2015.
The aim is to reduce the number of people smoking and it may be supported by other policies such as plain packaging which is being considered.
