The rate at which food prices are rising has started to fall.
Prices increased by just 1.8% over the past month.
And the price of 24 staple items dropped by 0.9% at Tesco last month, according to supermarket comparison website mySupermarket.co.uk. Prices, however, are still 17% higher than last year.
