A study by the Association of Convenience Stores has highlighted the importance to the British Public of having access to local grocery stores.
The research suggests that 20% of adults do not have access to a convenience store within 5 minutes walk of their homes. And consumers feel that the number of local shops near them has reduced.
This research supports the case for policy intervention to assist smaller, independent businesses.
